Climate and diving conditions Print E-mail
Indonesia has a year round tropical climate, influenced by two monsoons; The southwest and northeast monsoons. The Southwest monsoons brings in between December and March, the heavy rain.  With no monsoon effecting Indonesia at all, the period starting June to September offers the best weather all around and creates the best diving conditions in Indonesia.  The tropical climate offers Indonesia a comfortable air temperatures in between 25- 35 degrees year round, keeping the air temperature in Indonesia always nice and comfortably warm.

Water temperature in the Java, Bali and Banda Sea varies between 20 and 29 degrees. In general the temperature varies in between a comfortable 26-29 degrees. However, the divesites in the south are very exposed to currents, colder thermals rising up from the depths of the Pacific and Indian Ocean, dropping the temperature below 26 and creating thermoclines.

Advised dive equipment: 3mm to 5 mm long wetsuit, depending on personal preference.
