Thailand has a year round tropical climate, influenced by two monsoons; the southwest and northeast monsoons. The southwest monsoon comes in at the end of May until late September, affecting mainly the southern areas, including Phuket, Phi Phi and the Similan Islands. The gulf of Thailand is not affected during this time of the year. |

Thailand offers a free tourist visa on arrival for most western countries, valid for 30 days, perfect for most tourists and travelers. This visa can be three times extended with 30 days. However, 60-90 day visa are issued at all Thai embassies and consulates prior to arrival as well. |
