On the eastern site of the Lesser Sunda Islands lay the three islands of Komodo, Rinca and Padar and many other small picturesque islands covering more than 600 kilometres of land and more than 1200 kilometers of rich marine waters. Together they form the Komodo National Park. The islands are blessed with spectacular volcano’s, mountains covered in tropical jungle, mangrove forests, fertile green rice paddies and the home of the biggest monitor lizard on earth, known as the Komodo Dragon.
